Spotlight Artist: Erin Schantz-Hilton

Erin Schantz-Hilton founded Earth Tongue Studio because she knows that we need to
feel a connection with something to want to create change.

Growing up in a forest, she spent hours wandering in hopes of making contact
with the wild animals that live there.

She craved the magical moments where she encountered one and momentarily made eye contact.
They gave her a sense of her human body temporarily losing its solid form,
to instead join them in a flash of ephemeral connection.

Ever since, she has used her paintings to speak for these beings and advocate for their protection

Before she joined our community however,
Erin was trying to do this alone and feeling overwhelmed.

Through the conversations and support she found in Become Internationally Known
she worked to become more clear on her role.

She found the supportive relationships she needed to take her work and its important message to the next level. Building a new studio for Earth Tongue, she was able to launch a solo show
of new works and increased her sales by nearly 200%.

Her new vision is clear: we need each other to make the change we want to see in the world. She says her next chapter will be, “ in collaboration with animal sanctuaries and conservation groups… I see these overlapping bubbles of influence and audience coming together for stronger success for everyone…We sometimes think we can do this alone, but it is so much better when we support each other.”
